Recitation Contest
On the afternoon of 24th June, in the Young Pioneers team activity class, the recitation competition of Grade 7 Chinese of Anqing Foreign Language School was held as scheduled in the Lecture Hall.
To be specific, ten students from each class were selected to take part in the competition and the prizes were judged by the total score of each class. During the contest, the children recited Liu Yuxi's ‘Inscription on the Humble Room’, Du Fu's ‘Looking at Mount Tai’, Gong Zizhen's ‘Jihai Miscellaneous Poems’ and many other well-known works from ancient times. The soulful recitation and the passionate performance transformed the beautiful words into vivid paintings and touching scenes.
Additionally, this recitation competition not only helped Anqing Foreign Language School's students to understand classics, update their knowledge, develop their intelligence, cultivate students' interest in ideology and morality, history and culture, and traditional Chinese education, but also effectively integrated the Chinese classics into the construction of campus soft culture, which let the classics educate people silently and promoted the formation of a good learning style, teaching style and school spirit.
In a nutshell, walking with the classics and making friends with the sages, we believe that such influence will become the inexhaustible source and motivation for students to cultivate their integrity and morality.
